Responsible Pet Ownership

 

All pets over the age of 90 days must be licensed with the Town of Drumheller.

Animals that are found at large can be recovered by contacting Community Enforcement at 403.823.1363 (during office hours) return of all animals requires photo identification (for the owner)and proof of ownership and the purchase of a valid Town of Drumheller animal registration tag.

The cost of licensing your pet will vary based on whether it is spayed or neutered and when you acquire the license. March 1 of each year is the deadline for licensing your pet at a discounted rate. After March 1 the full license fee will apply.

Spayed or Neutered Pets:

(Fees are subject to change without notice, call to confirm fees)
Before March 1 - $35
After March 1 - $50

Non Spayed or Non Neutered Pets:

(Fees are subject to change without notice, call to confirm fees)
Before March 1 - $40
After March 1 - $60

Pet license applications can be picked up at Drumheller Town Hall (703 2 Avenue West).

Things to remember when applying for a pet license:

  1. Must provide proof of spaying or neutering before acquiring a license.
  2. Pay in person by cheque, Interact or money order.
  3. License fees are not refundable.
  4. Licenses are not transferable.

Off leash areas are town owned lands that allow animal owners the freedom to be with their pets (but under your direct guidance) in a natural setting for the enjoyment of both owner and animal.
