Commercial Garbage Collection

Commercial Accounts generating over five (5) bags of refuse per week are required to have a container service.

Garbage should be ready for pickup by 7:00 am on your designated collection day.

Burn Barrels

The Drumheller & District Solid Waste Management Association will not accept burn barrels or their loose contents for disposal at any of the Transfer Stations within the Solid Waste Management Region. The burned material must be extinguished with no hot embers present and must be contained in either a bag or box prior to disposal at the Waste Transfer Stations.

Used Oil Management Program

The Drumheller & District Regional Landfill no longer accepts used oil, oil jugs or filters at the landfill. The Alberta Used Oil Management Association (a division of ARMA 1-888-999-8762) is responsible for the program. Oil, containers and filters can be delivered to the Drumheller Bottle Depot free of charge.

Secured Loads
All refuse or waste material that enters the Drumheller & District Regional Landfill must be secure and firmly covered such that none of the material will leave the vehicle or trailer. Any vehicle with an unsecured load will be tracked on a log sheet. Any vehicle with an unsecured load will pay an “Unsecured Load Surcharge.”

The fees for unsecured loads are:

$10.00 for all loads delivered in light passenger trucks with or without attached trailers.
$20.00 for all loads delivered in trucks over one (1) ton.
Failure to pay the “Unsecured Load Surcharge” will result in access to the Drumheller & District Regional Landfill being denied.
