In the following newspaper article   written by Pat Kolafka - of the Drumheller Mail / Inside Drumheller.

Mayor Yemen's comments include reference to Mrs. Margaret English's opinions that were experessed in print earlier this week.

Mayor Yemen's reinforces statements within the article are reinforced as noted:

“In regard to the letter to the editor dated July 13; being directly involved in the process, it baffles me as to how misconstrued the facts can get,” said Yemen.

Mayor Yemen maintains that the Town of Drumhelelr is very proud of the efforts that have been made to ensure that our tax rates are manageable.

“In 2012, the Town of Drumheller approved a three year budget of a tax increase of 3 per cent.  This increase is there basically to cover the costs of inflation,” said Yemen. “A large number of municipalities in Alberta are very envious of a 3 per cent tax increase.”

The issue of supplying water to all communities within the Town of Drumheller's geographical area - is a direct responsibility of the municipality - as identified within the province's Municipal Government Act.

Town Council would like to reinforce the message that it has taken significant care and attention to listening to the perspectives of residents in Lehigh and East Coulee on this issue - and that the the process has taken place in a respectful and productive manner.
