We believe that strong families are the heart of a prosperous community.

Family services refer to our various initiatives that focus on building, maintaining, and recovering healthy family relationships.

Knowing about our programs takes you one step closer to meaningful experiences that develop a sense of togetherness.

Family Fun

In coordination with local community organizations, Family Fun is a program that aims to allow quality time for families to cultivate a deeper bond

With different events throughout the year, both parents and children can participate in engaging learning experiences that can help families grow together.

Our FCSS partners with Golden Prairie Parent Link Center to support young families in the Drumheller area.

Parent Link provides weekly play programs supporting early childhood development, along with parent education, information and referral and developmental screening.

Evidence confirms that the early years present unique opportunities for positively affecting development.

The benefits are not only reaped by each child individally, but by society as a whole through reduced social costs, greater stability and prosperity, and a healthier, more productive population.

The Drumheller and Area Early Childhood Coalition also provides an opportunity for FCSS and other agencies to plan positive initiatives such as the Early Years Fair to help parents connect with local services.

Together we want to gain a better understanding of how young children in our area are doing and how we can respond more effectively to meet their needs!

Big Country Anti-Violence

We have also partnered with Big Country Anti-Violence to promote the cause against domestic violence.

Through initiatives like Walk in A Mile in Her Shoes and Angel’s Corner, we are able to raise awareness about the effects of domestic violence that can significantly impact a family’s well-being.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) is a set of permanent birth defects caused by pre-natal alcohol exposure.

It is a condition that threatens the development of children and can challenge a family’s stability.

To prevent this and support families with a child with this condition, we have established a committee consisting of experts and advocates.

This committee is tasked to develop programs and resources that educate and extend aid to the families in need of this service.
