Spring Sports, Recreation & Arts Expo another success!

On Wednesday, March 6, hundreds of people from the Drumheller area flocked to the Badlands Community Facility for the semi-annual Sports, Recreation & Arts Expo making the event another success. Held in March and September, the Sports, Recreation & Arts Expo is the community’s opportunity to learn, explore and register for sports, activities and clubs for all ages in and around the Drumheller Valley.

Some of the highlights from this spring's expo included:

  • The Bike Safety Course run by the Drumheller RCMP. Two thirds of the field house was set-up with a pylon course for cyclists to maneuver through. Constable Stewart and Constable Dobrich were also engraving bicycle pedal stems with identification numbers which assists RCMP return lost and stolen bicyles.
  • The delicious food. Ojas Cafe expanded their menu for the expo and it was hard to escape the wafting aromas in the lobby and pre-function area outside the exhibitor hall.
  • The knowledgeable fitness experts giving orientations of the fitness centre. Apple Fitness and the  Badlands Community Facility staff were showing off and sharing tips about the equipment in the fitness centre.

Other thanks needs to be given to all the exhibitors and demonstrators for all the wonderful booths and presentations, Drum FM for emceeing the event, and the Town of Drumheller for organizing the event and providing the venue. The next Sports, Recreation & Arts Expo is scheduled for September 4. Organizations wishing to exhibit should watch for registration forms coming out in June.
