Well March has wrapped up and what a month it’s been! I was very happy to speak at the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce and swear in new directors.
This is a fantastic organization dedicated to the betterment of our community and I thank them for all they do for our area.
Drumheller is very fortunate to be home to one of Alberta’s oldest music festivals.
This year marked its 75th anniversary! Looking back through its history, one could say it’s actually 85 years old.
The festival started 85 years ago however it was put on hold during the war years and eventually restarted.
I want to congratulate them on their success and thank organizers for inviting me to their gala event in March.
I also attended the Canadian Badlands conference in Strathmore.
It was a very well organized event, the speakers were truly inspirational, and the tourism related workshops were fascinating.
Next year’s conference will be in Brooks and I encourage anyone involved in the tourism industry to attend.
April is gearing up to be another busy month.
We will be talking about renaming the splash park area to Rotary Park as the Rotary Club of Drumheller has made significant investments in that area.
With the nice weather we’ve had lately I’ve been seeing more tourists walking around and touring our great town.
I’d like to welcome them and all other tourists to the Dinosaur Capital of the World in 2015.
