2010 Toilet Rebate Program

Town Of Drumheller Toilet Rebate Program

Did you know toilets use more water than any other appliance in the home? They account for approximately one third of the average household’s water use. Remove that leaky / water - guzzling toilet, and take part in the Town of Drumheller’s Residential Toilet Rebate Program.

What is the Toilet Rebate Program?

The Town of Drumheller is offering $50 rebates for homeowners who replace high flow toilets (13 litre or greater) with 6 litre single flush toilets and $75 rebates for 6 / 3 litre dual flush toilets. Rebates are processed on a first come, first served basis and will be credited to the applicant’s utility account within 8 to 12 weeks after verification.
Like most products, not all toilets are created equal. Only toilets that meet identified Canadian Water and Wastewater Association performance standards will qualify for rebates.
Replacing just one 20 litre toilet with an efficient six litre low flow toilet will save approximately 25,550 litres of water per person every year. This would also result in further saving on your Water and Sewer Utility Bills of approximately $ 66.54 per person every year (Based on 2009 rates)

Who qualifies for a rebate?
You qualify if you own residential property within The Town of Drumheller, have a current utility account and purchase a qualifying toilet after July 6th 2009. You can apply for one rebate per household.
Toilets installed in new construction or during renovations requiring a plumbing permit are not eligible for rebates. You do not need a permit if you are simply replacing an existing toilet.
