Position Summary:  This position is responsible for supervising staff, assisting with maintenance and operations of the Aquaplex, including maintaining Water Quality, Lifeguarding, Janitorial duties, Public Relations, daily cash balancing and deposits, ensuring all rules and regulations regarding safety are complied with, assisting with program development.

The ideal candidate combines a strong background in Aquatics programming and administration with a fun approach that focuses on the safety and enjoyment of all of our clients. 

This position will start in May and end on or before long weekend in September.

Employment Category:   Seasonal Full Time Hours Per Week:   37.5 - 44 hrs/week. Shift work includes nights and weekends – based on a compressed work week, and conforming to the Town Policy and CUPE 4604 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Pay Scale:  Shift Supervisor l – $22.51 - $26.42 Benefits:  As per the Town’s HR Policy and CUPE 4604 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Education and Experience:  Completion of grade 12 or equivalent must possess a current Standard First Aid/Aquatic Emergency Care, National Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor; asset:  Pool Operator 1 and Lifesaving Instructor. 

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor of Aquatic Operations and Recreation Programs, all staff are responsible for providing a safe, clean, professional and friendly environment to ensure that pool patrons have a positive aquatic experience. 

Staff paid training in return for a long term commitment to the organization. 

Further involvement in facility scheduling, programming, pool operations and maintenance are coordinated in collaboration with other town departments.

Employment Category:  Seasonal Full Time Lifeguards and/or Instructors

Hours per Week: Up to 37.5 - 40 hrs/week. Shift work includes morning, days, evenings and weekends – conforming to the Town Policy and CUPE 4604 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Pay Scale:  $16.02 - $18.59 per hour

Education and Experience

Depending on the level of experience, all applicants must have their National Lifeguard or Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate &/or Water Safety Instructor or Lifesaving Instructor; Standard First Aid and Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross. 

Candidates with excellent communication and positive interpersonal skills; time management and computer skills and knowledge of aquatics programming principles are encouraged to apply. 

An effective customer approach and the ability to work in a fast paced environment are essential.

The Town of Drumheller is seeking a responsible individual for collecting parking payments at the Town of Drumheller parking lot at the Hoodoos.  This is a Seasonal Casual summer position (1 available) Thursday – Monday.

Position Summary:

Responsible for greeting guests to the area.  Explain parking charges, collect fees from customers and respond to customer complaints. 

Perform cash handling tasks, such as making change, balancing and recording cash receipts. 

Maintain parking lot and roadway by ensuring a clean condition, free from litter, rocks, weeds, debris, garbage and other foreign material.

Hours per week:  Thursday – Monday shifts will be 10:00 am – 6:00 pm and 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm.  This is a Casual position and will be called on an as needed basis.

Pay Scale:  In accordance with CUPE Local 4604 Collective Agreement

Successful candidate must be:

     • Grade 10 or equivalant

     • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

The Town of Drumheller is seeking an individual to fill the position of Inmate Supervisor.

Position Summary:

Under direction of the Operations Manager, the Inmate Supervisor leads, plans and directs inmate staff from the Drumheller Institution. 

Responsibilities include overseeing and ensuring that all tasks and projects are carried out within Occupational Health and Safety standards.

The supervisor will plan daily work schedules for the inmates to coordinate with the Operations Manager.

Hours per week:  40 hours – Monday to Friday

Pay Scale:  This is an out-of-scope position

Required qualifications include:

     • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent

     • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

     • Ability to work with a minimum level of supervision and have excellent project management

        skills

     • Strong interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills

     • Three to five years of progressively responsible supervision experience

Preference will be given to candidates with a background in policing or correction services

Reporting to the “Camp BCF” Summer Coordinator and the Program Coordinator, this position is responsible for the day to day planning and implementation of the daily activities for Children ages 6 – 12. 

You will use your enthusiasm and love of children to ensure the days are fun, safe and engaging.
