It's time to thaw out from the long winter and crawl out of hibernation to the Spring Sports, Recreation & Arts Expo! Sign your kids up or yourself up for Drumheller's spring/summer recreation programs on March 7, from 4:00PM - 7:00PM.

Fit into It Challenge

Fit Into It Challenge
The Town of Drumheller's Recreation Facilities & DrumFM have partnered to bring the community this FREE* quarterly challenge which is designed to help the public fulfill personal health & fitness goals. By tracking progress with the help of the staff at both the BCF & Aquaplex, patrons can keep their goals a top priority throughout the year, rather than just throughout the month of January. Participants can register each quarter online or at the BCF/Aquaplex, & will track their progress at the front desk when they complete their work outs. At the end of each quarter, all of the challenge participants will be entered into draws for swag! BUT THAT IS NOT ALL! Everyone who consistently tracked & completed their personal goals will be entered into the Grand Prize draw!

*No registration fees apply. Admission to facility not included.

2018 Women's Health & Fitness Retreat

Our Second Annual Women's Health & Fitness Retreat is the perfect way to start off 2018 the right way. Women of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to join in a full day of inspiration & motivation. Learn healthy eating tips, different workouts to suit your lifestyle and spend the day with like minded women who are ready to feel and look their best.

This action packed day will include snacks and lunch, health and wellness speakers, two all-level workouts* and will finish off with a relaxing yoga session, prizes and swag! Suit up in your most comfy gym gear & prepare for a day full of health, wellness and fitness fun! Registration opens December 1, 2017. Registration form (PDF) is located below!


*Upon registration, you will have a choice of two all-level workouts; C.O.R.E. Cycling with Tina Buchberger, Keeping Up: Boot Camp with Heather Jones, POUND with Megan McLauchlin, and a circuit session complemented with a comprehensive orientation of our popular fitness equipment at the Badlands Community Facility with our Program Specialist, Amber Leavitt. These all-level workouts are first come first serve basis.

Meet the Speakers!

Tina Buchberger
The Badlands Community Facility's C.O.R.E. Cycling Spin instructor, Tina Buchberger, is not only a fitness instructor; she is also a Certified Nutritional Health Coach for Integrated Nutrition. Throughout her education there, she was exposed to the most cutting edge dietary theories and studied highly effective coaching techniques. She had the opportunity to learn from the best business such as Deepak Chopra, Dr Christiane Northrup, Kate Northrup and Howard Jacobson PhD (to name a few of her favorites). Since graduating in 2015, she created a program that truly works to help clients reach their goals. She provides a supportive environment that allows people to feel comfortable enough to pinpoint their strengths & weaknesses. This allows the client to have input into their custom built plan that's just for them.

Terri Leslie RMT
Terri Leslie is the owner of Rush Sports Massage in Drumheller, AB. She received her Massage Therapy education from Alberta Institute of Massage and has been in the industry since 2008. In 2014, she designed and instructed a Diploma program once taught at a local college. She has a variety of patients, however athletes in and around the area are prevalent in her practice. She has worked at Alberta Winter Games, with the local Alberta Junior Hockey League team, football players, figure skaters, soccer players, weight lifters, Boston Marathon qualifiers, Barrel racers, and weekend warriors; in an injury prevention and treatment role.

Terri advocates the most important element of success; self care. This may include: hydrotherapy, remedial exercises, stretching or perhaps appropriate rest. Through her practice, Terri has realized the importance of self-care in her own life, leading to her advocating clients to become active in their own self-care, both physically and mentally.

Adele D.
Adele D is strongly connected to her roots. She is a proud coal miner's daughter raised by her dad at 10 months of age with the support of her Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents and her community. She has faced many adversities in her life. Some people look for escape in self-destruction or addiction...but not Adele. She has taken the lessons learned through pivotal points in her life to become the amazing person she today. Today, Adele is a Coach and an Emotional Advocate. She is dedicated to raising her two girls in Drumheller. She is a pillar in her community, and an inspiring friend. Adele is excited to share her stories about resiliency, holding on to hope and knowing you can achieve what you set your mind to. Adele is a Transformation Weekend master trainer and speaker. She is passionate about sharing the principles taught to her through positive psychology and how we strengthen our willpower to succeed.
