The Town of Drumheller is seeking an individual to fill the Temporary Community Events Coordinator position.  This is a Full Time Temporary/Seasonal position until March 31, 2020.  Thereafter continuation of the position is contingent on renewed or acquired funding.

Position Summary: Working within a dynamic team, the Community Events Coordinator is a dynamic, results oriented, hands-on individual that works well in a team environment or on their own. They manage multiple priorities while achieving results measured as; developing a range of year round, successful, activities and events that attract locals and visitors to the community and enhance opportunities for economic activity, support cultural awareness and afford an increased sense of community.    

Employment Category:  Program Coordinator 1 

Hours per Week:  37.50 hours per week - Tuesday to Saturday Days, Evenings and Weekend – Subject to seasonal change and events planned.

Pay Scale:  $19.54 - $22.85

Education and Experience:

     • High School Diploma essential.

     • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Tourism, Events Management, Hospitality,

       Communications/Marketing or Cultural Studies an asset.

     • Two (2) years relevant events planning experience

     • Demonstrated proficiency in social media content development, website maintenance,

       computer systems and applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point).

     • Excellent Organizational skills

     • Knowledge of the principals and processes for providing excellent customer services.

     • Knowledge of, or familiarity with, downtown businesses, community organizations, groups and

        volunteer activities an asset.

     • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and some General Holidays.

     • Valid First Aid

     • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

     • Must submit a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
